Thomas meets with Connacht-Ulster Alliance

I was delighted to meet with the Connacht-Ulster Alliance in Dublin this week.

Letterkenny Institute of Technology, IT Sligo amd Galway-Mayo Institute of Technology have come together to form a strategic alliance – the Connacht-Ulster Alliance – with a view to taking advantage of the opportunities offered by the National Strategy for Higher Education and ensuring a strong collaborative approach to enhancing higher education provision in the region.  The three Institutes currently cater for a student population of just over 16,000.

A stated ambition of the Connacht-Ulster Alliance is to achieve Technological University designation for the benefit of future students and graduates. The achievement of Technological University status will also be critical for the future social and economic development of the region.

I look forward to working with the Connacht-Ulster Alliance on educational excellence into the future.
