I received a petition from the Coeliac Society of Ireland yesterday outside Leinster House against the HSE cutting all Gluten-free products from the Medical Card and Drug Payment Scheme.
Gluten-free foods can be up to 4 times more expensive than normal foods.
Many coeliacs have signed the petition calling for reversal of these cuts or provision of an alternative, equitable scheme for those who really need it.
