BUNBEG PO UPDATE
- Updated: 7th March 2014
Following the consultation on the future of Bunbeg Post Office it has been decided to appoint a temporary Postmaster/Postmistress for a minimum period of 3 months to continue service. This is to allow further time for full consideration of all aspects of this case.
The consultation concluded on 14th February which considered
- the very substantial volume of responses the Company (An Post) has received in response to the consultation process and
- given that the current Postmistress will shortly cease her contract on 15 March 2014,
This is due in no small part to the people and local businesses in the community that showed their support for Bunbeg PO and I would likr to congratulate them all on this community effort.
However, a final decision has not yet been made and this is expected to be announced a few months down the line.
I will be sure to keep you updated on this matter.
Thomas
