Donegal to get a Children’s Outreach Nurse
- Updated: 18th February 2015
Good news as Donegal will be getting a Children’s Outreach Nurse appointed this year as part of a recommendation from the 2010 report: “Palliative Care for Children with Life-limiting Conditions in Ireland – A National Policy.’
Minister Lynch confirmed the appointment in her response to Thomas Pringle TD’s Parliamentary Question today. As part of the HSE’s 2015 Service Plan, two additional Children’s Outreach Nurses are to be appointed this year and Donegal will get one.
‘A positive development for Donegal and for the Our Children’s Voice group’ says Pringle. ‘The group has worked tirelessly campaigning for more services for children with life-limiting conditions. They recently met with the Minister for Health, Leo Varadkar, expressing their concern so this is a positive development in light of their hard work.’
‘It is important now to ensure the post is filled and a Children’s Outreach Nurse is appointed in a timely manner’ says Pringle.
